organic = sustainable

what customers are saying:

I left Countryside for cheaper, "All-Natural" feed. When my customers started COMPLAINING about the taste of my eggs I came back to Countryside!

Herbal Ley Version Two

Countryside Organics’ Herbal Ley is a diverse foraging mix comprised of multiple herbs, clovers and forage brassicas. Herbal Leys provide increased health, nutrition and biodiversity benefits, as well as improved soil drainage, increased organic matter and reduced fertilizer inputs. Countryside Organics’ Herbal Ley is a high percentage clover mixture for high nitrogen fixing and high protein production. Condensed tannins in the sainfoin and birdsfoot trefoil act to prevent bloat, even with a high percentage of clovers. Forage legumes like clovers, sainfoin, alfalfa and birdsfoot trefoil and grazing herbs like plantain and burnet are drought resistant. Herbs like plaintain and chicory deliver a high micronutrient content. Birdsfoot trefoil, sainfoin and chicory are proven natural dewormers. Kestrel kale and forage turnip add late season nutrition. Soil health is improved by nitrogen fixation, deep mineral extraction, increased organic matter, and the natural keylining effect on the soil by deep tap roots.

Countryside Organics’ Herbal Ley produces a well-balanced, multi-species forage that reduces fertilizer inputs and provides increased levels of vitamins and minerals to livestock as it builds and restores soil fertility. Higher initial costs of Herbal Leys are offset by improved animal performance, reduced fertilizer inputs and reduced supplementary feed input.
