It’s a food battlefield out there. Everyone wants something added or wants something left out. Organic is either too big or too small or, some days (very few and far between) just right. Industrial interests battle organized grass roots and vice versa. It’s loud and unseemly and there is a manure-load of money polluting legislation. We need more voices fighting for clean, healthy food. We need more organic acreage. Here is a little survey of recent “food thought” for your consideration:
“Organic Food Purists Worry about Big Companies’ Influence – Has ‘Organic Been Oversized?” – Stephanie Strom, New York Times
“U.S. Pig And Cattle Producers Trying To Crush Egg Bill” – Dan Charles, NPR Food Blog
“Rebel with a Cause: Why I Oppose Government GMO Labeling” – Joel Salatin, Flavor Magazine
Countryside Organics is a “small” organics company. We don’t use any carageenan or docosahexaenoic acid algae oil. And we are proud and happy (relieved) that our Certified Organic labels means that our products are GMO free. Certified Organic means non-GMO. One of the many benefits. Easy to read and understand. No-GMO. No pesticides. No herbicides. From soils that have been IMPROVED, not decimated with poisons or starved by conventional farming. Help us spread the goodness of organics.
