thought for the day:

organic = sustainable

what customers are saying:

I left Countryside for cheaper, "All-Natural" feed. When my customers started COMPLAINING about the taste of my eggs I came back to Countryside!

Feature Farm: Timbercreek Organics

Recently I had the good fortune to go on a farm walk with Zach Miller of Timbercreek Organics, and with Kevin Fletcher of Countryside Natural. I went as the photographer but was able to listen in on these two as they explored Zach’s farm and the two discussed farming, farm problems and a variety of solutions.

Zach and his wife Sara are raising broilers and layers, cattle and hogs. Additionally, they have an extensive composting operation. The compost is used to rebuild grazing fields. Livestock and eggs are sold locally.

Zach and Kevin are both energetic and passionate farmers. Zach likened farming to a kind of romance. Any given day might bring you great success or great failure. Or both. Kevin likened farming to teenage love. Intense highs and intense lows. Clearly, love is a necessary component of healthy farming.

The two of them spent some time trying to out-complement the other. Zach had high praise for Countryside’s livestock feeds and supplements. Kevin gave the credit to Zach’s farming practices. Both agreed that Timbercreek Organics products were of the highest quality.
